Ford préparerait aussi un hayon multifonction pour son F-150
Il y a quelques années, la division GMC de General Motors innovait en présentant un hayon multifonction pour son modèle Sierra. L’idée a fait des petits et peu de temps après, Ram introduisait à son tour un hayon offrant des options d’ouvertures différentes aux consommateurs.
Ford a réagi avec son nouveau F-150 en dotant son hayon de fonctionnalités idéales pour les travailleurs, comme une règle intégrée et des espaces de rangement. Cependant, la compagnie souhaiterait aller plus loin si l’on se fie à une demande de brevet qui montre qu’elle est peut-être en train de préparer quelque chose.
La nouvelle a été rapportée une première fois par le site CarBuzz. Les croquis du document déposé à l’Office américain des brevets et des marques de commerce montrent un design qui divise le hayon en trois sections. La partie centrale sert de porte à charnière qui s’ouvre de façon latérale. Le hayon multifonction du Ram 1500 fonctionne de manière similaire, mais avec une division en deux parties.
Évidemment, il convient de rappeler que comme c’est le cas pour tout brevet demandé, que ce soit pour un nom ou une technologie, ça ne signifie pas que le tout va passer à la production. Cependant, puisque dans le segment des camionnettes la concurrence est très forte, il est permis de croire que Ford ira de l’avant.
