Ng Siak Hai, 87, was handed two charges for driving without due care and attention that resulted in death and grievous hurt.The traffic charges arise from an accident along Nassim Road towards Tanglin Road on the evening of Nov 1, 2022. Ng was behind the wheel when he allegedly failed to exercise due care and attention, resulting in losing control of his car.As a result, Mr Ng Thit Hung, a 72-year-old man seated in the front passenger seat, died from his injuries.Ng appeared in court on Wednesday with his lawyer Mr Choo Si Sen. He was offered bail of S$15,000 and said he would be pleading guilty.For driving without due care and attention, causing death, he could be jailed for up to three years, fined up to S$10,000, or both.
