FSL Trust posted a 56.6 percent fall in net income for H1 2026, driven by the absence of a prior vessel sale gain, even as revenue increased 10.6 percent. Operating profit and EBITDA slipped due to higher depreciation and cost pressures, yet fleet utilisation remained robust at 95 percent.
FSL Trust delivered a mixed performance in the first half of 2026, reporting a net income of nine hundred seventy thousand dollars (US$/760,000) which represents a sharp 56.6 percent decline compared with the same period last year.
The company emphasized that the drop was largely attributable to the missing one‑million‑plus dollar gain from the disposal of a vessel that had been recorded in the previous year's results. In spite of that, sales rose 10.6 percent year‑on‑year to 4.25 million dollars (US$/3.32 million), underscoring a resilience in demand for its shipping services and an expanding client base. While revenue trends were encouraging, other key performance indicators moved in the opposite direction.
Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation slipped 0.7 percent to 2.32 million dollars (US$/1.81 million), reflecting the impact of a 23.7 percent rise in depreciation expense that was driven by the aging of its fleet and the capital‑related costs associated with recent upgrades. Operating profit fell 74.3 percent to 550,000 dollars (US$/430,000), further highlighting the cost pressures the company faces as it maintains high standards of safety and reliability.
Net income per unit contracted with one cent to 0.05 dollars (US$/0.04), a tripling of the decline relative to the previous half‑year and an indicator of compressing margins. Despite the earnings slump, FSL Trust's operational efficiency remains strong, with fleet utilisation standing at 95 percent as of 30 June 2026. The vessel acquired a firm‑contracted revenue of 17.68 million dollars (US$/13.8 million) during the reporting period, providing a stable cash flow foundation for the remainder of the year.
Management reaffirmed its commitment to capital discipline and prudent cost control, while continuing to invest selectively in technology and crew training to sustain growth in the competitive maritime market.
