Gas prices remain high but could be showing signs of improvement.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, the economy will be on voters' minds. And the price at the pumps is one of the most direct pieces of evidence as to how the economy is faring.The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Tuesday is $3.854, below Monday's price of $3.865. The price was $3.862 a week ago, according to AAA.

One week ago, the price stood at $3.800.The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has dropped to $3.662, below Monday's price of $3.672. Last week, the price was $3.664.
