The Giants had a positive update.
“Tight end Tommy Sweeney had a medical event and is under the care of medical professionals in the Giants athletic training room. He is stable, alert and conversant,” the team said in a statement.
Sweeney was drafted by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft. He played three seasons there, but missed 2020 because of myocarditis that developed after having COVID-19.defines myocarditis as “a serious though rare condition where inflammation develops in the myocardium, or middle muscular layer of the heart wall. Myocarditis can weaken the heart and its electrical system. As a result, the heart’s ability to pump blood declines.
Sweeney signed with the Giants in March. He has 18 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in his career.
