Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York argued that former Vice President Joe Biden was referring to women implicitly when he wrote in a 1981 op-ed opposing a child care tax credit that it would cause the"deterioration of family," despite never specifically mentioning women in the piece.
In an interview with CNN's Brooke Baldwin on"Newsroom," Gillibrand again attempted to claim that Biden had said women working outside the home would cause the deterioration of family life in America. When Baldwin pointed out that Biden never said those words -- and said in a floor speech that he didn't care if men or women chose to stay home and care for their children -- Gillibrand said she didn't accept that.
