Prosecutor Katie Bell said:"The females refused to provide a version of events but said a fight broke out between the men which had to be broken up."Grant told the officers:"He started it, he went after my girlfriend and my maw, I was defending them, they got injuries because of him, I punched him in self-defence."It was noted that he suffered five wounds to his head and two wounds to his forehead as well as bruising to his back.

Miss Bell said:"He was open in his statement when he said there was an argument prior to the incident being described over a wallet."They ended up face to face however he then let go and walked away from Mr Grant.
