Historical deposit is in US nuclear heartland
Global Uranium and Enrichment has delivered an increased resources at its flagship Tallahassee project in Colorado, boosting its claim to own one of the largest undeveloped uranium deposits in the US.The company's share of resources at the 51%-owned Hansen deposit is now 11% larger at 22.9 million pounds grading 570 parts per million, up from 20.5Mlb, delivering total resources for the project of 52.2Mlb grading 530ppm using a 250ppm cut-off. Hansen was discovered in the 1970s.
A scoping study will be finalised over the coming weeks, while the rigs are now drilling the Maybell project elsewhere in Colorado, where the company hopes to confirm shallow high-grade mineralisation and evaluate the thicker and lower-grade potential of the Lower Browns Formation.Maybell is a recognised uranium district with historical production of 5.3Mlb grading 1330ppm.Data suggests that there is unmined mineralisation around the historical open pits.
