Now in its fourth year, Go Green SG is a nationwide movement led by the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment that rallies citizens, businesses and communities to take collective action towards a more sustainable and climate-resilient Singapore. This edition’s line-up is the most varied yet.
Beyond the specially curated workshops, learning journeys and retail deals, you can also go behind the scenes at sites not usually open to the public. With a focus on climate adaptation – in support of theWhether you are deeply passionate about sustainability or simply looking for meaningful ways to spend the school holidays, here are some highlights to explore. There is more to Singapore’s outdoors than meets the eye.
From spotting local wildlife to discovering how mangroves protect our coasts, these activities will have you seeing the city you thought you knew in a completely different way. Participants can discover marine life such as sand dollars and hermit crabs during guided intertidal adventures around Singapore’s shores. Aspiring sea explorers and curious little minds can join a guided coastal adventure to explore intertidal shores and mangrove habitats and discover the hidden life of fascinating creatures that live there.
Look out for hermit crabs and sand dollars and learn how they survive in these ever-changing environments. Participants will also gain a better understanding of Singapore’s ecosystems and why we need to protect them. As you craft your product from scratch, learn about the chemicals commonly found in commercial products and how your ‘toilet bombs’ can contribute towards sustainable and low-waste living. Each session runs with a minimum of four participants till June 11.
