There may be stunning views, a high-ceilinged marble-mosaic lobby and stylized architectural features, but since November, residents on floors 16 to 59 have barely had the luxury of coming and going from their units.that the elevators for floors 16 to 59 are often out for hours. It’s made them late for work, miss appointments and cancel plans.

The building’s owner blames electrical surges from the Con Edison utility. After extensive testing, Con Edison says there’s no “plausible theory” as to why it would be their fault. The city got involved, but the issue continues. Even when the elevators do work, some have reported sudden jolts and feelings of a quick descent.
