It's a devastating blow to a player who spent the majority of the season working his way back from a torn left Achilles he suffered in January last year.

Cousins, a four-time All-Star, went down early in the first quarter of the Warriors' Game 2 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night as he was chasing down a loose ball. He immediately grabbed his left leg and exited for the locker room. The Warriors cruised for the next three quarters before the Clippers staged a 31-point comeback victory — the largest in playoff history.
This was just the second playoff game of Cousins' nine-year career, and he's on track to become a free agent this summer. As for the Warriors, they have proven they can win without Cousins. They went 31-14 before he made his debut this season, and they of course won three championships in four years before his arrival. But he adds another dimension to their offense with his dominant low-post presence along with his ability to hit shots from the perimeter.
