Julian Salisbury was once considered a contender for Goldman Sachs CEO. Now the asset and wealth management CIO is leaving.
Also leaving the bank is Takashi Murata, co-head of Asia Pacific private investing and global co-head of real estate within Goldman Sachs' asset management unit. Jim Garman was named sole global head of the asset management division's real estate business, according to an internal memo by Nachmann, a copy of which was seen by Insider.

Throughout his tenure at the firm, Julian has held a number of leadership roles, most recently helping drive the growth of our unified Asset Management business. Before that, Julian partnered closely with a number of leaders across the firm to unify our five different investing platforms and join our efforts across alternative and traditional asset management to better serve our clients.
During his career at the firm, Tak has served in a number of leadership roles across our investing businesses. He joined the firm in 1998 as one of the founding members of the Asian Special Situations Group and helped to scale the business across the region, particularly in leading the build out of the Australia and New Zealand SSG team in 2012.
