SINGAPORE - Businesses that are hurt by the pandemic and need to liquidate will soon be able to do so in an easier way.
"So we're looking at a form of simplifying the process, making sure that those who can restructure or can find new investors can do so easily." On Wednesday, Mr Tong also said that the Government is looking to provide companies - such as those in the travel or meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions industry - with a simplified way to restructure their businesses, which would otherwise not survive in the short term due to the pandemic.
But the goal of the measures is to make sure that Singaporeans and businesses are best placed to take advantage of the upturn once the economy is back on track, said Mr Tong, who is also Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.
