An online debate has erupted over a Grab driver and a prospective passenger, with users arguing over who was in the right. A screenshot of their conversation, showing a fare of $5.70 for two passengers including one in a wheelchair, circulated on Facebook before being deleted on Nov 28. Many netizens sided with the driver, noting that the passenger had booked a Just Grab service, which simply assigns the nearest available vehicle.
For wheelchair assistance, Grab recommends using GrabAssist, a service staffed by specially trained drivers. In response to Mothership's inquiries, a Grab spokesperson apologized for the incident, confirmed that the driver received a warning, and advised riders to book the appropriate service for their needs
