Trevino belted an 0-2 cutter from Cal Quantrill to center field to drive in Kiner-Falefa and break a 1-1 tie. The Yankees, defeating the Guardians for the sixth consecutive time in the postseason. Prior to Game 1, Guardians manager Terry Francona was asked if he thought the pressure of playing in Yankee Stadium in the postseason would get to his young club. Francona said he was confident his team could handle things, despite struggling to score runs in its first two playoff games against Tampa Bay.
