José Ramírez seeks his fifth Silver Slugger Award when the winners are announced next week.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Guardians third baseman José Ramírez was named a finalist for the Silver Slugger Award in the American League on Thursday. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 on MLB Network.Ramírez hit .282 with 36 doubles, five triples, 24 homers and 80 RBI this season and was named to his fifth All-Star Game roster. In June, Ramírez posted his first career three-homer game in a 10-3 win against Boston.
Ramírez logged his fifth season of at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases, passing Grady Sizemore for most in franchise history. He also continued his climb up the Cleveland’s leaderboards in several categories, now ranking among the leaders in extra-base hits , home runs , doubles , stolen bases , runs and total bases .
