The disgraced mogul's request to travel to Italy and Spain before the start of his September 9 rape trial has been denied
a 1988 Oscar-winning film distributed by Miramax, Weinstein’s former company. Weinstein was going to meet with the director,His lawyers used Morricone as part of their argument, noting that the 90-year-old Oscar winner is unable to travel.
Weinstein also wanted to go to Spain to take meetings with “designers, directors, and investors,” Deadline noted. The disgraced mogul, who surrendered to New York police last May andin the process, will now have to wait it out in the U.S. until his rape trial begins. He has been charged with five counts of sexual assault by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. He has pleaded not guilty.
