'He was always there': Building manager built secret 'cave' in basement of unit block | lucycormack
A strata apartment manager who built an 'Aladdin's-cave' inside the complex filled with hundreds of stolen items watched residents on an allegedly hacked CCTV system from his makeshift bedroom.
He was charged with a number of offences, including property theft, conspiracy to cultivate cannabis and possessing a prohibited drug.can now confirm Mr Hati has pleaded guilty to all offences and will be sentenced at Sutherland Local Court on September 30. He remains in police custody. The"cave" in the basement of the Bowman Street apartment building, where building manager Jaden Hati allegedly lived and stored stolen property.
Some residents had concerns about Mr Hati’s “24/7 presence” at Bowman St, while others spoke favourably of him, "because he was always there,” and proficient in repairs and managing on-site contractors. Mr Hati was employed by property management company BGIS, which is the estate manager for some of the Jacksons Landing complexes.BGIS contacted residents on August 28 to confirm that Mr Hati’s employment was “instantly terminated” when they became aware of the alleged thefts.
