Malaysians in Singapore who are intending to take the train home to celebrate the Chinese New Year may soon have to find an alternative route.
And indeed, a check on the website the next morning by Shin Min found that all tickets for both Chinese New Year Eve and a day prior were already sold out. For Feb 7, only tickets for the morning trips were left. One lucky traveller who managed to snag a ticket for Chinese New Year Eve told Shin Min that while she's not sure when she would be returning to her hometown of Malacca, she didn't want to waste the opportunity.
"I thought I'd buy a ticket on Chinese New Year Eve as a safety measure, if I don't need it later on, I'll get a refund," Yan shared.
