National water agency PUB issued flood risk warnings as many areas of Singapore experienced heavy rainfall on Dec 9 afternoon.The Stomper shared 25 photos of car plates on the grass next to the road following the afternoon downpour. 'We all know there was a flash flood at Balmoral Road,' said the Stomper.'What happened after was quite funny and interesting. 'All the car plates were nicely placed along the side of the road. ' PUB had issued flood risk warnings for nearly 20 locations, including in Bukit Timah and Toa Payoh, as well as western and central areas such as Choa Chu Kang and Chinatown. PUB said:'The Bukit Timah area is prone to flooding, and drainage improvement works have been carried out along Bukit Timah Canal and the Bukit Timah First Diversion Canal over the past decade. 'There are also ongoing works to widen and deepen a 900m stretch of Bukit Timah Canal (from Rifle Range Road to Jalan Kampong Chantek) as a long-term measure to enhance flood protection in the area, which will be completed by 2026.' Heavy rainfall can be expected during this period due to the prevailing northeast monsoon.
