Whether you’re thankful for a fruitful 2022 or excited for the start of 2023, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate on New Year’s Eve. Anchorage has plenty of entertainment options, headlined by the traditional downtown celebration and fireworks display.: 7-9 p.m., 498 W. Third Ave. The Anchorage Downtown Partnership is hosting the downtown New Year’s Eve celebration. The free event will include the annual fireworks display and an outdoor party featuring live music in the Chinook Parking Lot on Third Avenue and E Street. Fireworks start at 8 p.m.The Prom You Should Have Had is the theme to this party, which includes ‘80s music by DJ Lefty, a buffet dinner at 9 p.m. and champagne toast at midnight. Party favors, noise makers and hats are provided. Tickets are $125.
