Here’s a sampling of memorial events and sites to visit to honor and remember the victims and the first responders of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
A plus-500-pound steel artifact from the World Trade Center is on display at the memorial that honors the firefighters who worked to save lives on Sept. 11. 301 N. First St., Alhambra.The memorial is open, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. The memorial garden is located on the grounds of the Beverly Hills Fire Department, 445 N. Rexford Drive .A display of a 23-ton and approximately 22-foot tall
that was originally part of the lobby structure at the south tower of the World Trade Center. 1700 Stadium Way, Los Angeles.The Manhattan Beach Fire Department received two steel beams from the World Trade Center. The beams are upright on a concrete platform where the words “We shall never forget” are inscribed. The memorial is located at Manhattan Beach Fire Department Station No. 1, 400 15th St. .LABT planted 83 trees in June 2002 in memory of California residents who were killed on Sept. 11.
