The key witness in the trial of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak involving the misappropriation of RM2.28 billion of 1Malaysia Development Bhd funds was Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin, Najib’s former special officer.
Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah fixed the date after deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustafa P. Kunyalam informed the court that the prosecution had just received an affidavit from the defence to set aside the leave to initiate the committal proceedings.“I have been informed that the defence had sent an affidavit to set aside the leave granted to the prosecution last Friday… I would like to ask for two weeks to reply to the affidavit,” he said.
