Controversy surrounding an all-staff message is simmering in the Olentangy Local School District. Principal Monica Asher is on leave as a result. Monica Asher, the principal of Olentangy Orange High School, is under scrutiny over the message she sent to staff following president-elect Donald Trump's victory last week. Those words and that message have her off the job.District staff members received a message telling them that Asher had been placed on administrative leave.
"I can't write a message that pretends like the election didn't happen; especially when so many of you are struggling with how to move forward," she wrote. "I know you are struggling with how to move forward with your students who are afraid."
