Normally a slow performance at the NFL Combine turns teams off, but it was the opposite for the Bears front office.
In the moment, Gordon was “bummed” by the 40 time, but he got over it quickly knowing he could perform better and that his tape would tell the true story. That’s exactly what the Bears saw, too.
“He plays way faster than that time,” St. Brown said. “And you see it all the time. There’s a lot of players that don’t run as fast as we’re all expecting but they play faster. And he has great play speed.” Gordon now has the opportunity to come in and start opposite Jaylon Johnson in Week 1. Bears rookie minicamp begins May 6.
