It seems like everyone is obsessed with all things French, from the way women dress to their skincare routines to their makeup. There’s a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will, about the way they are able to pull off looking chic while also looking as if they didn’t put in any effort. Truly, an art. So, it’s no surprise that there’s a particular way French women put on eyeliner.
I’m definitely not an eyeliner person at all , but since learning, I’ve been wearing eyeliner almost every day. Yes, it’s that easy. Phillips’ overall tip about minimal makeup: “Because, when you do less what you do is much more visible, so if you go for the flick you need to make sure it’s balanced out and really well done. Also, if you have lighter lashes, that you go with your eyeliner pen, in between the roots of lashes to fill in those gaps of skin,” says Phillips. “Glow also.
Here’s what I learned about how to get the perfect minimal makeup, that we can definitely wear all fall and winter long.“There’s no pigment, so it won’t turn grey or ashy on any skin tone. It’s pure pearlessence. It’s smooth, jelly, you can apply it under your foundation or you can apply it on top of your foundation. There’s only one shade to match all skin tones, purely because there’s not pigment in it,” says Phillips.
