ICYMI: Humboldt man who tried to kill wife to be deported upon prison release
The special residency condition was imposed on Brandon Kurt Carelse in case his deportation — expected to happen immediately upon his statutory release in June — is delayed, according to the Parole Board of Canada.
At the time, he was on a probation order prohibiting him from contacting her because of a prior assault against her, court heard. The woman reported that Carelse was abusive over a nine-year period before they immigrated to Canada from South Africa in 2008, the board noted.
