The man behind a controversial program for troubled young people located in the remote NT says he has 'done nothing illegal'.

Mr Gutwein told Parliament the six Tasmanians currently in the program were visited in September by a child safety manager."The guardian of the children, the Secretary of the Department, conducted a video call last week obtain their views. During that call the young people expressed their desire to remain in that program," Mr Gutwein said.Peter Gutwein said he was advised the young people were safe, well and making good progress.

"Connected to culture and country, not banished to a remote facility run by an apparent fraud thousands of kilometres away," she said. "Tasmania has a rich history of the provision of bush adventure therapy services, two organisations have over 30 years of experience in providing these kinds of services," Mr Fairlie said.
