Canada's pregnancy experts weighed in on the coronavirus
In response to rising coronavirus concerns, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada released aTuesday. It explained that there’s “limited data” on how pregnant Canadians would be affected and advised checking off common causes like pneumonia and influenza first.
The only pregnant Canadians the statement singles out as potential coronavirus patients are “women with a history of symptoms within 14 days of travel from the Wuhan region in China.” Our Infectious Diseases Committee released its statement on the novel Coronavirus. We will continue to follow the outbreak and provide our members and the obstetric community with updates as more information is gathered.
