The teen comedy is coming to Netflix so soon.
is just under two weeks away from its release date — but to tide us over, a brand new trailer is here to tell us everything we need to know about San Fernando Valley teenager Devi Vishwakumar and her friends, family, and biggest crush.
The new trailer, out April 15, kicks off with a familiar reference: Devi lays on her bed reading Anna Todd's steamy novel). She's interrupted by a hot classmate, who immediately takes off his shirt and wants to have sex. Tragically for Devi, it turns out to be a dream. The show, created by executive producer Mindy Kaling, follows Devi as she navigates romance, friend drama, and chats with her therapist during her sophomore year of high school. "High school's a d*ck," Devi proclaims at the dinner table, to which her cousin Kamala chimes in, "Are we allowed to say d*ck now?"
She's joined by her two best friends, Eleanor and Fabiola , who are dealing with their own dramas as Devi figures out what she wants from her life. Ultimately, Devi explains, "I just wanna be a normal teenager." According to the trailer, that apparently entails coyote attacks, kegels, and falling into swimming pools. As Devi puts it, "Buckle up for some steamy teen romance.
