Tornado damage, injuries reported in Kingsbury
Guadalupe County emergency crews responded to Kingsbury just before 7 p.m. due to multiple reports of structure damage, injuries and downed power lines.Authorities in Guadalupe County are responding to what was likely a tornado touchdown that occurred about 6 p.m. Monday in Kingsbury, damaging multiple homes and potentially injuring multiple people.
Patrick Pinder, emergency management coordinator for Guadalupe County, said emergency crews from all over the county were responding to Kingsbury just before 7 p.m. due to multiple reports of structure damage, injuries and downed power lines. He could not immediately confirm that a tornado touched down, although Kingsbury was under a tornado warning — meaning a tornado was indicated on radar — between 5:45 and 6:15 p.m.Kingsbury is about an hour northeast of San Antonio.
“We have houses collapsed, and we have damage,” Pinder said. “We are doing damage assessments now, and we have several crews out there helping people.” Guadalupe County emergency crews responded to Kingsbury just before 7 p.m. due to multiple reports of structure damage, injuries and downed power lines.Pinder said there were reports of injuries, but that nobody had been taken to hospitals yet. He said there was one report of a person trapped in a house that collapsed, but emergency crews were able to get the person out.
