A solid set of security and feature improvements
in iOS 16.2 and means data like Notes, iCloud backups, and Photos are now protected with end-to-end encryption. The protection covers 23 “data categories” now, up from 14, and includes device backups, messages backups, iCloud Drive, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Safari bookmarks, Siri Shortcuts, Voice Memos, and Wallet Passes.
If you’re a karaoke fan, then Apple Music is getting its own karaoke mode with iOS 16.2.launches today and includes real-time lyrics and the ability to adjust the volume of vocals so you can better hear your own voice. Background vocals can also appear independently of the main ones, and there’s also a duet view if you want to sing with a friend. The feature is available for the iPhone 11 and later.
