With the new docuseries on the NBA all-star, “The Last Dance,” airing on ESPN, there’s a renewed focus on Michael Jordan’s infamous fashion sense. But were his clothes actually so bad?, writes jacobwgallagher
IT WAS THE BERET that got me. In the first episode of “The Last Dance,” a new 10-part docuseries about Michael Jordan’s 1997-1998 season with the Chicago Bulls, the team takes a preseason trip to Paris. There, Mr. Jordan did what so many deluded Americans have done before: He plopped on a beret.
On the 6’6” athlete, however, the flat cap actually looked good. Wearing it quite comfortably, he peacocked convincingly during photoshoots and press conferences. As I watched the episode on ESPN last Sunday I could hardly believe my eyes: Might Mr. Jordan have been more stylish than I thought?
