“It certainly tipped the scales. I have to look after my health and spend time with my family,” said Poirier. He is not exactly sure what’s next for him. He plans to take a break for a while and decompress before taking on something new. Chief Walker's association with his predecessor also goes back a long way, as Poirier was his training officer when the latter was a new recruit and the two men have worked together ever since.
