Service frequency on NJ Transit's River Line has been reduced since late August and a state senator wants to know why.

Riding NJ Transit’s River Line light rail system has become little less convenient, due to service reductions that started close to a month ago and caught the attention of a ranking state senator. The schedule changes that took place on Aug. 23 reduced the frequency of service from trains every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes on weekdays. Saturday service also was reduced to a less frequent Sunday-holiday schedule.
Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, due to continued operational challenges, River LINE weekday service will temporarily operate every 30 minutes throughout the service day. Saturday service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
