, becoming the fifth colorful visual from the set following “Blanco,” “Morado,” “Rojo” and “Amarillo.”, the music video brings to life the turmoils of a toxic relationship. Balvin and a model are seen trying to fix their issues as scenes -- in different hues of the title color gray -- show Balvin surrounded by snakes, scorpions, crows, frogs, fire and even an elephant. At one point, the Colombian singer is seen drowning., Tilley elaborated on Balvin’s trippy music videos.
"Gris" kicks off with acoustic guitar riffs before turning into a sensual urban track. With lyrics such as"The same story that doesn't end/ There's always something to talk about," the song is about a man who is often judged by his girlfriend, but she's just like him. In other words, things are not black or white in their relationship. They meet halfway, in the color gray.
