Jackson Wang , vocalist and member of the popular K-pop group Got7 , has been hospitalized due to sudden chest pains. The news came as a surprise to fans on January 26, 2025, during Got7 's highly anticipated comeback performance on the music show SBS Inkigayo after a three-year hiatus. Got7 released an official statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, announcing Jackson's absence and explaining that he was hospitalized while preparing for the performance.
The group assured fans that Jackson is currently recovering and receiving treatment, and plans to resume promotions for their new album, 'Winter Heptagon,' once he has sufficiently rested as advised by his doctors. According to an update from the fan account Jackson Wang Global, Team Wang, Jackson's management agency, stated that he is doing well following a medical check-up. Got7, consisting of members Jinyoung, BamBam, Mark, Youngjae, Yugyeom, and Jay B, released their new album 'Winter Heptagon' on January 20, 2025. Jackson, 30, had also recently attended Paris Fashion Week the previous week. The group is scheduled to hold two concerts in Seoul on February 1 and 2, marking their first full-group performance since their world tour in 2019, during which Jackson took a break from music. During his absence, Jackson engaged in various endeavors, including attending brand events, launching a comic book, and co-creating a horror house attraction for Universal Studios Singapore's Halloween Horror Nights.
