Members of the Jacksonville City Council Finance Committee voted to not fund the Director of Diversity position that pays over $180,000 a year.
– Members of the Jacksonville City Council Finance Committee voted Thursday to not fund the Director of Diversity position that pays $185,000 a year.
Ahmed was previously nominated to serve on Jacksonville’s Human Rights Commission and his religion became an issue before the council 13 years ago, but Ahmed ended up serving two terms on the Human Rights Commission.
