Tom Joscelyn told 60 Minutes that Ray Epps became a far-right scapegoat for the attack on the Capitol with cherry-picked evidence.
In the months after the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, an Arizona man named Ray Epps became the target of a conspiracy theory that accused him of being a federal agent that incited the riot.
"No matter how many times they push this conspiracy theory, this lie, it'll never become truth," Epps told 60 Minutes."Truth stands on its own. What I'm telling you is the truth." Ray Epps, a Jan. 6 protester now at the center of a far-right conspiracy, says he relives the Capitol riot every day In a statement to 60 Minutes issued in April, the FBI said:"Ray Epps has never been an FBI source or an FBI employee."
