Nearly 25 years after she bought it, Janet Jackson is listing her apartment on New York’s Central Park for $8.995 million
Katherine Clarke.who rose to stardom in the late 1980s and 1990s with hits such as “Miss You Much” and “Together Again,” and who is the sister of the late performer Michael Jackson, purchased the apartment for $2.8 million in 1998, records show.The property provides a vantage point from which to observe the 57th Street corridor best known as Billionaires’ Row, according to the real-estate agents.
A spokesperson for Ms. Jackson said she hasn’t been at the apartment since 2019, before the Covid crisis. “Whenever entering my apartment of 25 years, I always treasured my home’s wonderful location and the breathtaking views that capture the magic and excitement of New York,” Ms. Jackson said in a statement. “Stepping through its threshold instantly made me feel so tranquil and at peace—so many memories.”
Ms. Jackson is selling because “it’s time for someone else to enjoy it and make new memories,” Ms. Koffman said.Yoo Jean Han/Sotheby’s International Realty
