JaymesYoung reflects on a relationship in 'Happiest Year': Listen
. A few singles have been released since, but on Friday , Young returned with a brand new track, the reflective "Happiest Year."
"Oh, love, I couldn't quit/And I'm down on my knees again/Thank you for the happiest year of my life," the 27-year-old crooner belts his characteristically emotive vocals over a somber piano melody. "Happiest Year is a song I wrote about trying to see things from a more positive perspective, no matter how troubling they feel," Young said of the tune in a statement. "During the writing process I tried to express gratitude and understanding towards experiences that had also left a potential for bitterness and resentment. I’d rather reflect on the good times when I can, but sometimes that’s easier said than done.
