Glaesener claims in the lawsuit the charges were fabricated and dropped when the JCPD and Prosecutor’s Office were provided camera footage of the incident.

It’s a nice parking space, big enough for a car or even an SUV. Not too big, but not too small, either. You know, comfortable. You could call the Downtown Newark Avenue spot unassuming, maybe even humble to a fault. But is it worth $175,000? That’s what the city of Jersey City is paying a Union County woman to settle a federal lawsuit stemming from an incident nearly five years ago in which a dispute over the parking space led to her arrest on questionable felony charges that were later dropped.
The settlement, which would be paid through the Jersey City Insurance Fund Commission account, is expected to be approved by the city council at Wednesday night’s meeting. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
