New York Jets quarterback Mike White toughed out several big hits and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after the game.
Saleh declared White the starter going forward if he checks out OK medically.
White was initially injured in the second quarter. He stayed in the pocket to throw a 24-yard completion to Elijah Moore but was buried by defensive tackle Ed Oliver. He missed two plays before coming back into the game. White was speared by linebacker Matt Milano with 4:45 left in the third quarter and stayed down in pain. On the next play, Flacco turned the ball over on a strip sack by defensive end Greg Rousseau. The turnover led to a Bills field goal. White went to the locker room, missed a full series and then gingerly walked back into the field and played the rest of the game.
White, who started the season as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco, has been impressive since being named the starter after Wilson was benched. He threw for more than 300 yards in his first two starts this year before finishing with 268 yards against the Bills.
