The student who was stabbed near John Jay High School Tuesday has died, San Antonio police said.
The unidentified 18-year-old male was taken to University Hospital in critical condition after the stabbing.
San Antonio police said the student was confronted by another teenage male at the La Fiesta De Jalisco restaurant near John Jay just before 2 p.m. Both teens had gone to the restaurant, at 7712 Marbach Road, for lunch.One of the students went inside, ordered food and sat down. The second teen entered moments later, placed an order and confronted the first student, police said. The two started arguing and exited out the back door where the fight continued.
Then one teen pulled out a"cutting instrument" and stabbed the other one, officials at the scene said. The victim grabbed his backpack and ran about 100 feet before collapsing.
