Kenny Pickett’s first season under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers has been far from perfect.from the rookie in a Week 17 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Pickett has made a strong case for himself as Pittsburgh’s franchise quarterback.
. He started to show signs of major development since the beginning of the season as he settled into the pace of NFL games. Suddenly, the poise, accuracy, and ball placement tools that made him successful in college were showing up at the professional level. The offense started to click and the Steelers started to win.
When it mattered most, Pickett stepped up and delivered. His passing numbers—15-for-27 for 168 yards and a touchdown pass—weren’t groundbreaking, but he managed to protect the ball and made plays when called upon as running back Najee Harris put together one of the best games of his career. Pickett’s performance kept the Steelers in the game despite trailing by 10 at one point, a deficit they had yet to overcome this season.
