Ochoa will replace Roger Ramirez, who was in charge of the program for the past five years. Under Ramirez, the Golden Eagles broke a 35-year playoff drought, advancing to the regional semifinals in 2020-21. They were also co-District 15-6A champions from 2019-21.
This past season, Ochoa helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 14-9-1 record and top-four finish in the district standings. The Golden Eagles fell to Cypress Lakes, 2-1, in the first round. He also served as the football freshman offensive and defensive lineman coach and B team offensive coordinator.
