The Good Place stars Kristen Bell and D'Arcy Carden reunite in a new comedy film, The People We Hate At The Wedding. Bell starred in the quirky and philosophical Mike Schur NBC sitcom as Eleanor, a woman who attempts to hide the fact that she was mistakenly placed in 'The Good Place' after her death.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Two years after The Good Place's bittersweet finale, Bell had the opportunity to work with both Claire Scanlon, who directed several episodes of the sitcom, and Carden again, in The People We Hate At The Wedding, which stars Bell and Ben Platt. While speaking with The Wrap, Bell explained the circumstances of the mini Good Place reunion that took place in The People We Hate At The Wedding.
“I mean, she’s one of my favorite people. She’s one of my dearest friends. We have a very close relationship and Claire Scanlon, our delicious director, had directed us both on ‘The Good Place,’ and so we all knew each other. And when that scene came up, Claire texted me, ‘What do you think about D’Arcy?’ And I think I responded with the word ‘duh.' It just made so much sense. There is no one that I’d rather have help me put my underwear back on than D’Arcy Carden.
Two of the 'Soul Squad' have earned roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Jamil starring in Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law as the antagonist Titania and Harper cast in an undisclosed role in the highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In another Disney-owned franchise, Jacinto was recently cast as a lead in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte.
Danson, who was renowned prior to The Good Place due to his lead role on Cheers, went on to lead his own NBC sitcom, Mr. Mayor, which was canceled after two seasons, and currently has a role in Fox's The Orville. Carden, who was a fan-favorite character on The Good Place, has flexed her comedic chops in HBO Max's Barry as well as starring in Amazon Prime's A League of Their Own series.
