“The only way we’re going to prevent these civilian deaths is by an immediate ceasefire to allow aid into Gaza and to treat people’s lives with dignity,” said Lancaster Stands Up volunteer, Rebecca Rast. They are also asking people to call the offices of their members of Congress to demand their support.CBS 21 also reached out to Senator Casey and Representative Smucker on their thoughts on a ceasefire.
In a statement, Senator Casey said, “the United States must continue to support Israel with the resources it needs to root out and destroy Hamas.”He said he “strongly supports Israel’s right to defend itself from the barbaric and heinous terrorist attacks committed by Hamas.”
