“Join me then, let's have a chat. I know I'm not alone.” — Sheila Sim
Sheila Sim, a well-known Singaporean actress, model, and advocate of positive psychology, posted on her Instagram account an invitation to her talk at the Mental Health Festival Asia 2022 this Friday, Sept 30, 2022., she invites all mothers to join her as they all together venture on understanding and embracing the ups and downs of their journey toward motherhood.Motherhood can be so testing and triggering in so many ways.
That was when i asked myself, ‘why the need to set such high expectation of myself as a mother?’. Why couldn’t i just let go?… i had already seen a therapist, worked with a healer, picked up meditation, and studied Positive Psychology. I’ve learnt to ‘reparent’ myself in that time. Of cos, this process is a constant work in progress, but I cannot imagine how much more self-destructive i could have been otherwise. The event will run from 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon, Singapore Standard Time. It is free of charge. A registration process is required for those willing participants.Furthermore, Sheila Sim is also active on her social media accounts. She constantly does live streams via her Instagram account and talks about how to live passionately, love deeply and laugh heartily.
