Amazon Studios announced that it has closed an overall deal with Emmy Award-winning writer, creator, producer and actor Lena Waithe.

Amazon Studios announced today that it has closed an overall deal with Emmy Award-winning writer, creator, producer and actor Lena Waithe., in addition to working with Amazon Studios to create and produce original series, which will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. Both sides spoke of the exciting new deal.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Amazon Studios and am looking forward to this next chapter,” said Waithe. “Both of our goals are aligned in that we want to continue elevating storytellers who are underrepresented and have a unique vision of the world.”
